Our Staff

Jesse Armstrong
lead Pastor
Jesse just completed a successful eighteen-year career in law enforcement, working for the Kentucky State Police for fifteen years. Jesse served as a detective most of that time, serving the Richmond and London post areas. He finished his career serving on the Southeast Kentucky Violent Crimes Task Force based here in London, KY. Jesse earned Post 7 Richmond Detective of the Year in 2012. He was also awarded the Kentucky State Police Citation for Bravery in 2010, an honor bestowed on officers who perform acts of bravery without regard for personal risk, despite clear and obvious peril and clearly above and beyond the call or risk of ordinary duty.
During this time, Jesse would tell you that his most meaningful work was being done here at First Baptist Church. Jesse served for many years at FBC London before being called into ministry. He helped lead the youth group, started our men’s ministry, served as a deacon, and led the church on several mission trips to Alaska and Guatemala. Jesse has a Master’s Degree in Apologetics and Evangelism from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has a passion for mission work, young families, and sharing the gospel with our community.
Jesse would tell you that his first calling in ministry is being a husband and father. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Robyn Vickers Armstrong. Jesse and Robyn have one son, Jack, who is a middle school student at South Laurel. When not watching Jack play sports, he loves to hunt, fish, and travel. Jesse has always loved the local church and is excited to see what God has in store for FBC London!

Glenn Toney
Worship Leader
I’ve been in ministry for over 25 years in one capacity or another – music, preaching, discipleship, etc. The greatest blessing has been to know that I’m where God wants me to be when He wants me to be there! I’m excited about FBC London and what God is doing through the worship ministry here. To see Him work through a transition time is eye opening and motivational, and I’m so blessed to be part of what He’s doing!
I’m privileged to serve with an amazing team of vocalists and musicians who love Jesus and want to make much of Him as we worship and lead others to do the same. The talented folks who make up our Celebration Choir are a great group of people of all ages that love what they do and it’s evident on their faces!
My wife Linda and I, are blessed with a godly daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Zack, and we have 7 beautiful grandchildren!
Galatians 1:10 is my life verse: “Am I now trying to win the approval of God or of man? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Susannah Sizemore
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
I am so thankful to be a part of the FBC staff! My husband Tim and I moved to London in 1997 and joined FBC soon there after. Living in a town where we had no relatives, the loving people of FBC quickly became our family.
I grew up in Jenkins, KY, then moved to Morehead, KY, in 1991 to pursue a degree in radio/television communications. Upon graduation from Morehead State University, I began working in television news. I loved the fast-paced feel of the newsroom, but as my husband and I began our family, I wanted to slow down and have more time for my children. I worked in the field of public relations for several years, but God eventually led me to join the staff at FBC in 2007, and what a blessing it has been!
If you are looking for a church family, a place to serve, a place to love and be loved, FBC London is where you need to be. Join us this Sunday!

Tammy Schooley
Financial Administrator
Tammy began working at First Baptist Church in 2008, with the Mother’s Morning Out program. She joined the office staff in 2014, and currently serves as the Financial Administrator. Tammy worked for 10 years in the banking industry.
Tammy is a native of London, KY, and resides with her husband and two daughters. “I am thankful and blessed to work with the staff and church membership at First Baptist Church. There are so many wonderful people here who are working to see God lifted up in our community.”
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. “ Isaiah 40:31

Lilly Hoskins
Children's Ministry Director
We are excited to welcome Lilly on to our staff in 2025!
Lilly has volunteered for many years at FBC London and worked alongside our longtime Children’s Director Kim (Smith) McQueen. When Mrs. Kim decided to retire, we had a seamless transition as Lilly took over the department!
Lilly has such a passion for our children! She loves teaching them about Jesus and they love her. When not at FBC, Lilly attends the University of the Cumberlands pursuing a degree in Education.

Kristi Kitzmiller
Choir Director
Kristi grew up at FBC London and was an active member here until she left for college at the University of the Cumberlands. While at UC she participated in many singing groups and ministry teams, traveling the state and surrounding areas singing, leading worship, and doing mission work. She graduated in 1996 with a degree in Music Education.
After college Kristi served as Worship Leader at Living Hope Church in London with her husband, Greg. In 2014 Kristi and her family returned to FBC London and began serving in the music ministry, singing in the choir, playing on the praise team, and helping with children’s and youth choir.
In 2024 Kristi became Choir Director at FBC and helps lead worship with an amazing group of musicians. Kristi feels strongly that the church is called to be lead worshippers of our heavenly Father and we are to do so as John 4:23-24 says, “in spirit and in truth.”
Kristi’s life goal as a worship leader is to help facilitate an atmosphere of worship that helps people connect with our Lord and Savior. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

Trey Kissel
Youth Pastor
Trey grew up at First Baptist Church and was an active member of the student ministry. After graduating high school, he attended Campbellsville University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministries. While at Campbellsville, he founded the men’s ministry “Forge.” During that same time, he also served as a student ministry intern at FBC London.
In January 2026, Trey joined the FBC staff as the Youth and Young Adult Pastor. His goal in ministry is to echo the truth of John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Trey desires for all people to know the objective truth that Jesus is the Savior of the world. Because of this truth, he wants every Christian to recognize the privilege and responsibility they have to share the gospel with others.
